The Independent Filmmaker Connection Database ("IFMCD") collects information to provide and improve our platform. We collect:

• Profile data — Bio, profile photo, filmmaker credentials, and institutional affiliation
• Usage data — Pages visited, films watched, search queries, watchlist activity, ratings, and reviews

• Uploaded content — Films, metadata, thumbnails, and related materials submitted by filmmakers

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the IFMCD platform
• Authenticate your identity and manage your account
• Personalize your experience, including film recommendations
• Process transactions and manage subscriptions
• Provide filmmaker analytics and audience insights

• Service providers — We use trusted third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Mux (video streaming and transcoding), and Resend (transactional email)
• Filmmakers — Aggregated, anonymized viewing statistics are shared with filmmakers through their analytics dashboard

• Protection — To protect the rights, safety, or property of IFMCD, our users, or the public

When you stream films on IFMCD, we collect viewing data through our video infrastructure powered by Mux. This includes:

• Films you watch and your watch progress
• Video quality and playback performance metrics
• Viewing duration and completion rates

This data is used to resume playback, provide viewing history, generate recommendations, and supply aggregated analytics to filmmakers. We do not share individual viewing histories with third parties.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
• Secure authentication via Supabase Auth with row-level security policies
• Content Security Policy (CSP) and HSTS security headers
• Regular security reviews and access controls

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
